We'll cover the basics of biodiversity and why it matters, the significance of Earth Day and the global movement behind it, and the concept of One Health — the idea that the wellbeing of people, animals, and the environment are all deeply connected. The session will also leave you with real, actionable steps you can take as a student and community member to make a difference — starting today. Do you want to learn more about local biodiversity, explore UAE wildlife, and support conservation at the same time? We are seeking volunteers who, with a bit of online training and armed with a field-guide and mobile app, are ready to become citizen scientists that will discover, learn about, and document biodiversity in undisturbed and lived-in areas. Our initial focus will be on the local flora, and your support could provide decision-makers with key insights into the impact communities have on the environment and help provide a wealth of data on UAE native species.
